Rerise Of The Imperium

22 January 2012 - 04:08 AM

I have been away for a while, and for reasons I would rather not get into my week long vacation turned into ~ a month without gaming. Some of the leading people in Imperium have lost their patience with me. Well I'm here right now to tell you that IMPERIUM WILL RISE UP ONCE MORE AND GAIN GLORY!
Looking to help? I need people to join the Imperium captial city of AlturRang(The City Of Caesars) to help us finish the capital. Although I cannot offer you plots right away, anybody that comes to the sparkling city of gold will be given 2 plots of land(free of charge) if they join before Feb 1st.
There will be building regulations once the capital is finished. This may be a downside to most, because certain materials will be banned from use in the city(as primary materials). However living in AlturRang will have you overseeing the sparkling capital, and allow you to sell at what will soon be the largest Market on koolsource. You will also be overseeing serveral other excited projects that will be in the works in the near future. Post here or contact Rebel ingame to reserve your plots today.

TL:DR?
Rebel is Back
Free Land before Feb 1st
Some Building Regs
Awesome City
Post Here or contact Rebel ingame.

April Fools Day 6 Months Later

26 September 2011 - 10:29 PM

It has been a mere 6 months since the best April Fools prank on minecraft. A simple promise by the admins turned into terror and fun times on skype.
For those of you who weren't cool enough to be around for the prank let me share the story with it.
Monday before April Fools a portal appeared near spawn. It was a simple portal surrounded by lava. It simply stated that it would open on Friday at Midnight GMT(April 1st).

At the time there was no way to get to the nether in multiplayer without having 2 servers and installing a mod. So this was a very big deal for us at the time. When Friday night rolled around there were 12 people online waiting for the portal to become active. However this was not the case. The admins activated the portal and immediately netherrack, ghasts, and pigmen spawned everywhere. The portal changed into 20 portals stacked on top of each other. Explosions started to destroy the area. Fire spread failed and soon there were vast forest fires destroying homes and trees as far as the eye could see. People started running into the bank and subway to seek safety. The bank mostly burnt but there was enough room for the survivors to huddle. The subway station did not fair as well. Slimes started to spill out of the tunnels into the subway. Everyone was on skype screaming bloody murder. The admins tried to say that the mod was not a mod at all but in fact a virus to destroy the server. All mods went offline and could not be put back online. People were screaming as their houses burnt. Our only saving grace was an underground bedrock fortress Deano and I had made a few days Prior. Norad would be our hide out.

Deano quickly warped there upon suggestion and changed the spawn point to the tunnel entrance. We regrouped inside the War Room as I changed the missile coordinates from Moscow to Spawn. Dean passed out sword, bows, diamond armor, and golden apples as we prepared to fight off the invasion at spawn. However, before we could coordinate completely, Pigmen started to spawn in the tunnels as lava started to flow out of the ceiling. We all immediately warped to spawn. The chaos that our spawn had become was extraordinary. It seemed almost unreal as we looked upon our burnt down spawn, filled with Creepers, Zombies, Pigmen, Ghasts, and Spiders. We all took a deep breathe and charged for the portal killing everything in our sight. Eventually we took down all the portals. However the confusion was not over yet. As we learned everything we had achieved, everything that we had thought had happened, was in fact all a gag that our admins had laid before us. A lot of the American players were confused as it was not yet April 1st in the states. The prank had been pulled off successfully much to the delight and laughter of the admins. The admins had disable the mods and when they activated the portal they simply all had commands queued up to be executed in sync.
A short while later we learned the server did not want to be restored and it took Dean a few hours to get the server working properly. Most thought this was his attempt at making more jokes. However the frustration in his voice lead me to believe otherwise. Once the server was restored a small memorial was constructed by Axmainian aka Alex and placed where the portal and invasion had taken place. The memorial is still there today with a little message inside describing the events that took place.

I would just like to thank the admins and players that took part in that event 6 months ago. For those of us who remember it, we shall always think back at it with a warm smile as Dean and Brad will think back on it with a Trollface.

The Most Epic Single Player Game of the Year?

01 September 2011 - 03:36 AM

Yes I realize it is a bold statement to claim the best SP game of the year a little over halfway though it. Especially a year that brought games like Deus Ex, Portal 2, and possible Mass Effect 3. However it doesn't take a long time playing the demo of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine to tell that it is very much so. After a mere 5 minutes of playing this demo I fell in love. Even though it only has 2 levels I completely got swept away by its stunning graphics, awesome looking weapons, and, of course, its absolute carnage with the chainsaw. It has to be only of those most rewarding games I ever played to the sound of heavy metal and chainsaw revving. Don't take my word for it though. Check out the carnage for yourself, and if you enjoy it, join me in buying it when it hits shelves this September.
