Koolsource / Minecraft announcement links

Posted by TheInfamousBug on 11 November 2011 - 08:01 AM

So this is a hard one to explain, but follow me:

If you go to the forums home (IE: here), note the currently displayed "Last post" which is by Deano about the live streaming post. However, when you click on the forum title (That is, on Koolsource News and Announcements), it takes you to that correctly... However, there is no link to the thread mentioned. What's more, when you click on that thread, then note the top of the page (Link to said thread here), it actually lists the forum it's in as "Minecraft News & Announcements" which again, is correct, because that forum DOES list the thread in question.

What my question is: Is the Minecraft News and Announcements forum actually a hidden subforum of Koolsource News and Announcements? It seems there is no direct way to that forum without actually finding a thread like that listed, clicking it, then using the link on that page to reach it? It just seems a rather roundabout way to get to that forum (Although honestly, I'm not sure why you'd need to unless it's a current topic).

It's just rather strange is all. I figure I'd inquire about this and try and figure out why this is the case, and why it confuses me so >.<;;

That is a "glitch" in the cache of the forum software we are using. When a thread is moved it creates a "shadow" on the homepage for the forum it was moved from. The last thread details are only updated when a thread is replied to or a new thread is created; not when we move a thread.

It's hard to understand unless you know exactly what it's doing.
