Hello Fellow KoolSourcers:

As most of you know Notch has decided to change Glowstone from being based on "Stone" to being based on "glass". This effectively disabled it's ability to be used in any type of redstone circuit and may or may not have broken things you have built.

Someone on the Bukkit forums requested that someone make a plugin that reverts Glowstone back to being based on "stone" and restores it's ability to be used in redstone circuits. I have already created this plugin for the person who requested it, but I don't want to put it on our server unless the majority of players feel that's what they want.

Let us know how you feel about this by voting, and possibly responding to this thread.

Does this disable its ability to be textured see-through like glass as well? ):

This does not effect the texture or anything that is client side so you should still be able to retexture it. It basically just changes the way that its processed by the server. Tricking it into thinking that it's a block of stone and therefore making it conductive to redstone.

I will test the re-texturing on my local server and let you know.

Well as of now, nothing I have would be affected, so I'll vote for the good old indifferent.

I think this is a good idea for the server but it would be cool you could use a world to allow it to be the idea of notches and other worlds to use the plugin

Due to the lack of any real "negative" votes on this topic I have installed the modification that fixes Glowstone. You may now use Glowstone in your redstone, attach doors, trapdoors, rails, powered rails... anything you can attach to stone. :)
