Hello KoolSource community.

We now have an IRC chat channel and relay channel.

The relay channel allows you to see in-game chat and also talk with people on the server without actually being on the server and vice versa.

To access this new feature you can either join using your own IRC client with the information below or just click the Chat button in the top navigation bar.

Server - ircd.jcink.com
Chat Channel - #koolsource
Relay Channel - #koolsource-relay

Enjoy!

I did a little searching and haven't been able to come up with anything useful. However if you were planning to just stay logged in all the time on your BlackBerry I would have to suggest against even looking for one.

Staying logged into an IRC server forces your phone to stay connected to the internet even when your not actually using it. This causes your battery life to be shortened down to about 1/4 of what it would be without having an internet connection open all the time.

A complicated, and perhaps costly solution to John's warning would be to have a linux machine that is never shut down run irssi (a text based IRC client which runs in terminal) in a screen. That way, you can SSH into your linux machine from your phone (assuming somebody has made a blackberry ssh client) whenever you like.

I've did this from my android phone, and you can identify my always connected machine as Happy0_ on the koolsource channel, haha. I pay £4.90 a month for the VPS which I ssh into. This is one of the many things the VPS comes in handy for.

Eh, not sure if any of that was of any use to you :P. Good luck!
