This means that Minecraft now has 12GB to itself

I have had a play on it and can already notice the difference, it certainly reacts faster to compass clicks and teleporting in general.

The website should also load pages that little bit faster which is always nice.

We've refreshed the design of the KoolSource website with a new skin set. This time with multiple options for background! The default background is what you are looking at now, a minecrafty theme designed from the ground up by us. In the future we will be releasing more backgrounds for different games, and themes. You can change to these by selecting the "Change Theme" button on the lower left of any page.

What do you think of the new look? Vote in the poll above. :)

We've been hard at work over the past few weeks working on something we'd like to call KoolSource Domains. KoolSource Domains will enable members of our community ( yes this means you ) to purchase subdomains of KoolSource.com for KsC.

Please let us know if you have any questions about our domain service. We would also love to hear about any feature suggestions that you might have.

How can I get one?
Under the "More" link above there is a link called "Domains" click that.
For your convenience here is a link. :)

How much are they?
Each domain name costs 5120 KsC. You can purchase KsC from our store.

How many domains can I own?
You may own and manage as many domains as you would like. There isn't a limit.

What can I do with my domain?
Once you purchase a domain you will be able to either design your own page, or have it be forwarded to a URL of your choice. For example http://zagora.koolsource.com redirects to http://koolsource.com/forum/27-zagora/ . This can be used to easily shorten your Town's forum URL.

This is due to the protest against SOPA. As this is only a 24 hour protest everything should be fine in the morning.

I just wanted to let people know what was happening especially those who do not know what SOPA is. If you do not know what SOPA is then all i can say is, have you been living under a rock?

Here is some brief information on SOPA:

Q: What is SOPA anyway?

A: There are actually two bills, the Stop Online Piracy Act, known as SOPA, in the House and sister legislation called the Protect IP [Intellectual Property] Act, or PIPA, in the Senate. Both are designed to tackle the problem of foreign-based websites that sell pirated movies, music and other products.

Federal law enforcement has the authority to shut down U.S.-based websites that offer pirated content, but they can't directly do the same to foreign sites like Pirate Bay. The Motion Picture Association of America, the legislation's main backer, estimates 13% of American adults have watched illegal copies of movies or TV shows online, and it says the practice has cost media companies billions of dollars.

I updated the mobile site today after I realized how messed up it was (I got a droid for xmas).

To access the mobile version of KoolSource simply visit the site using your mobile phone. If the mobile site does not load even when you visit with a mobile device please let us know what device your using and we'll try to fix it.

Both the website and the minecraft server will be down at some point this evening. It will be down because we are having an SSD fitted for the minecraft server and our databases.

This should increase performance on our server and website.

  • Added free image host for members who need somewhere to host images other than the gallery. (click here)
  • Various template and style changes.
  • More people writing articles.
  • Email server is fully working now. (People were having problems registering and receiving invoices.)
  • Removed pre-registration issues forum
  • Added icons/images to the store.
Minecraft Server:
  • Updated to latest version of CraftBukkit.
  • Updated various other plugins.
  • Disabled HD versions on the dynamic map . (Will be back in the future)
  • Added /rules, /news, /voip commands in-game.
  • Made minecarts disappear on exit and impact with each other. (Creative world only).
  • Fixed some permissions.
  • Fixed many other backend issues.
Other News:
  • We now have a ventrilo server.
  • We now have a mumble server.
  • We now have various other gaming servers. (subject to change)

As you have probably noticed we have upgraded the site, this has resulted in some of our old features being temporarily unavailable. This was needed for future development of our custom plugins and features.

Whilst we were upgrading we figured we would change the look and feel of the site for our upcoming features which we will inform you about soon.

Over the next few days you will notices features being added and changed.

If you find any problems with the new website then please reply to the topic and we will try and get them fixed ASAP.

We will update this post as we make changes to the website to keep you informed.

UPDATE#1:
  • Fixed all the white text that should be black.
  • Home page is now working again.
  • Added the Chat and Map link to the navigation bar.
