Since the latest update some holes have appeared in certain places. These are not full holes, only the smooth stone is missing but they do go all the way down to bedrock.

We do not yet know what has caused this or how to fix it. We need to know a few things first.

If you find or know where one of these holes are then could you please reply to this topic with this information.

What we are trying to determine is if new holes are appearing or if the ones that are already there are they only ones.

This information may also help us in finding out what caused these holes.

Mojang have released an update for Minecraft, bringing us to Minecraft 1.1.

• Along with several bug fixes, this update provides the following:
  
• Bow Enchantments
  
• Golden Apple recipe
  
• New language translations.
  
• Slightly smoothed color transitions between biomes
  
• Reduced brewing time to 20 seconds
  
• Added spawn eggs to creative (the colors of the eggs even look like the mobs)
  
• Added world type options (currently only super-flat and default)
  
• Removed collision box from ladders
  
• Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
  

As usual DO NOT update your client until you know that we have updated our server or else you will not be able to play. As soon as bukkit release a recommended build we will update. Hopefully it shouldn't take anymore than a week as they are already working on it.

Hello KoolSourcers,

I am writing this post to keep you updated with some of our recent changes and updates.

Rank Changes / Additions

VIP is now Dark Green and VeteranVIP is now Light Green.

We have added a new rank to the store named Supporter. This rank has the same as VIP, plus:

• Jump To - Allows to teleport to the block your looking at with left click of a compass.
  
• Magic Carpet - Allows the user to fly away on a carpet made of glass by using the command "/mc".
  
• Virtual Chest - A chest you can access whenever you want just by tying "/chest".
  

This new rank costs $25. However if you have already purchased VIP you can upgrade to Supporter for just $20 by clicking here then click the VIP package you already purchased, then click the change package button on the right. The rest is self explanatory. This discounted upgrade is only available for a limited time after which you will only be able to upgrade at full price.

Will be adding Super Supporter tomorrow for the extra homes.

Hardware Upgrades

We have upgraded the Minecraft server with a Solid State Drive (SSD) and more RAM.

New server specs:

• Intel® Core™ i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 8 cores
  
• 12GB DDR3 RAM
  
• 128GB SSD
  
• 500GB SATA
  
• 10TB on 100Mbit Port
  

As the server specs have increased so has the monthly cost. We have adjusted the donation bar to reflect this. The donation bar is reset on the 21st of each month as this is when our biggest bill goes out.

Voting

We have added 2 new pages where you can vote for koolsource. You can vote on each website every 24 hours and you will receive 50 Kredits per vote. Thats a total of 150 Kredits for free every 24 hours. Each website has a big green button on the right side of the KoolSource homepage.

Bounty Plugin

I have installed a plugin on the server which adds a public hit list to the server, allowing players to anonymously post hits against their enemies for a reward paid out of their pocket. Other players can take on the role of bounty hunter, competing to fulfill bounties and earn the reward.


Current bounty settings:

• bounty-min: 20 - Minimum amount users must pay to post a bounty (includes reward + fee).
  
• bounty-fee-percent: 10 - Percent of the amount paid that is taken as a fee for posting a bounty. The remaining portion makes up the reward for the bounty.
  
• contract-fee-percent: 5 - Percent of the award value hunters must pay to accept a contract.
  
• death-penalty-percent: 0 - Percent of the award value that the killed target loses.
  
• bounty-duration: 24 Hours - The amount of time bounty hunters have to complete a bounty.
  

Here is a list of the available commands:

• /bounty - Shows help information
  
• /bounty new - Create new bounty.
  
• /bounty list - List bounties available.
  
• /bounty accept - Accept bounty.
  
• /bounty abandon - Abandon bounty.

Mob Arena

If you enjoy fighting monsters for glorious prizes or just for the sheer thrill of battle, you and your friends can now join forces against hordes of Minecraft evils in the exciting gladiator style survival mini-game which is MobArena.

MobArena is a PvE take on arena gameplay, with a similar class based system. Instead of fighting other players, you team up with them to beat oncoming waves of monsters, earning lots of rewards in the process. MobArena can be played alone, or with as many friends as you like!

MobArena Commands:

• /ma join or /ma j - Join the arena if only one exists. Otherwise, join the Master Lobby (will be featured later).
  
• /ma join or /ma j - Join the arena with the specified name.
  
• /ma leave or /ma l - Leave the current arena, or the spectator area.
  
• /ma notready - Get a list of all players who aren't ready.
  
• /ma spectate or /ma spec - Spectate the arena if only one exists.
  
• /ma spectate or /ma spec - Spectate the arena with the specified name.
  
• /ma arenas - Get a list of all arenas. Green names are enabled, gray names are disabled.
  
• /ma players - Get a list of all arena players.
  
• /ma players - Get a list of arena players in the specified arena.

There will be a maintenance at some point this afternoon/evening to try and push 1.0 live, when it does, make sure you have a backup, in case we have to back out. If you don't, or don't know how, wait on IRC to make sure all is ok. Also, if you do update and jump into the server once its up, no large builds, we'll be in test mode for a bit, so if we have to restore from a backup, you won't lose anything important.

We have just taken the last steps in activating all of our new features. Not only has the spawn been changed but when you first log in you will be taken to the tutorial island as if you are a new player. This has been done so you have a better understanding of how the game has changed.

The old world has now been locked to Veterans and above. What this means is that anyone under vet can still go to the world, they just can't place or destroy any blocks.

If you have already started building on the old world and are not yet Veteran we are giving you the opportunity to apply for early veterancy in the suport forums. Upon making your post please state that your applying for early veterancy and also state your current played time which you can find by going in game and typing /played.

The new world is currently limited to a radius of 1500 blocks however this will be raised to at least 6000 when the 1.0 patch is applied to the server. The terrain on the new world is very rich in resources and there are plenty of abandoned mine shafts and crevices to explore.

KoolSource now has 2 main zone types. Wilderness and towns. Wilderness can be very dangerous as PVP is on. Players can build, destroy and explore any of the wild. However this also means players can legally grief and steal from the wild! As such it's probably in your best interest to interact with the other players to find a place you can live and grow on the new world. We suggest pooling your Kredits together to start a town. We have added a new /recruit channel which you can use to find people to join your town or find a town that is right for you.

With the new world and all the new features we have implemented also come a new set of rules which can be view HERE.

We will be updating this post and the Wiki throughout the week. Also we are keeping a very close eye on the development of bukkit so that we can get 1.0 on the server ASAP.

• iConomy - This allows us to have an in-game currency that can be used for many things such as trading. There are several ways to gain Kredits.

• Lottery - Purchase a ticket in-game for 25 Kredits. The prize depends on the amount of tickets sold and is drawn every 24 hours.
  
• Chest Shops - Allows you to make shops to buy and sell items even whilst you are offline.
  
• Towns & Nations - The ability to purchase towns and have residents help you build.
  
  
  
  • Nation Price- 8000 Kredits
    
  • Town Price - 3000 Kredits
    
  • Outpost Price - 1000 Kredits
    
  • 16 Bonus Claims - 500 Kredits
    
• HD Dynmap Map - We have brought back the HD surface view on the dynamic map and upgraded the textures on the flat map.

• From now on only VIP's can use global chat. - This is to reduce the spam of global chat, we don't need people discussing their dinner here.
  
• Added local chat /l with a radius of 150.

• Added trade chat /tr - All trade topics posted here.
